For most people, their education ends when their salary begins.

In his book  entitled Wisdom, my good friend Elijah Mwape elaborated inspiring points worth guiding anyone seeking growth, purpose and hope in life.

Today, I am sharing with you his insights on negativity, degree and skill set and being qualified.

Enjoy the read.

QUALIFIED

The world has standards and a system that people expect you to live by. What happens if you fail to reach those standards? Does it mean you are disqualified? The answer is No!

Being uneducated does not disqualify you.

Being unmarried does not disqualify you.

Having no car does not disqualify you.

Having no house does not disqualify you.

The essence of your life is found only in your identity and your purpose in life. You can be broke now but your dreams are not broken. If God created you with his own plan, then you are more than qualified. The reason for your existence is not measured by your material gains but by the quality of your life in impacting humanity in a positive way.

 NEGATIVITY

Anything that cost you peace is too expensive for you to afford. Never entertain negative people in your life, they will drain you and leave you dry. Misery loves company; people who are not happy with their lives will always find a way to make you unhappy. These people are easy to spot, when they have positive news they are quiet, but when the news is negative they spread it like fire. These people are in your life to remind you of your mistakes and to criticize you at every chance they get. They think that they know you well but they still look at the old you and refuse to acknowledge the progress and success of the new and self-improved version of who you have become.

These people are not strangers; some of them are even family members. Remember when God puts an APPROVED stamp upon your life, negative opinions from negative people are completely irrelevant. Don’t believe words that don’t enhance your life for the better.

“Negativity is cannibalistic. The more you feed it, the bigger and stronger it grows.”

-Bobby Darnel

A DEGREE AND SKILL SET

People with degrees in higher education, should not look down on business minded people who may not have a degree. A person can try and fail in business for years but once a business becomes profitable, the profit doesn't match the salary. If you have a passion for entrepreneurship go ahead, soon you might even be hiring those who looked down on you. Not all degrees have a million dollar idea.

I am not knocking the value of education but the reason most of us get a degree is to find jobs so that we can get a salary. For most people, their education ends when their salary begins. Education should be used as a tool of empowerment both academically and financially. Use education not only for a job but also for the knowledge to open your worldly view.

A skillset is just as important as any degree; in our generation today most successful people rely on their skillsets to attain a certain level of success. Have enough respect for your talents and skills, so that you can use them to change not only your life but the lives of those around you.

If you can sing never stop.

If you can play soccer, keeping playing.

If you can cook, cook even more.

If you can paint and draw, never stop creating.

If you are creative and can craft anything, do it.

If you like business, respect it and go at it.
